Frequently Asked Questions
Why choose MellaHealth?
MellaHealth provides personalized therapy that is accessible and convenient. Our therapists are licensed, masters-level providers who are highly-trained in evidence-based therapy methods that are proven to be effective. We offer therapy sessions either virtually or in-person, at a time that works for you. We accept all major insurance plans on an in-network basis. We offer a free consultation to understand your needs and preferences and identify the best-fit therapist.
Who are the therapists?
All MellaHealth therapists hold a master’s degree in their field and are licensed by the state of Connecticut as Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT). In addition to our rigorous interview and reference-checking process, each prospective therapist participates in our advanced-level cognitive behavioral training and completes mastery assessments in cognitive behavioral therapy.
How does the therapist matching process work?
We provide a free consultation to determine the best-fit therapist based on their unique situation, client preferences, and schedule. Research suggests that the ‘fit’ between you and the therapist is the best predictor of therapeutic outcomes, so we take this process very seriously.
