YOU DESERVE TO FEEL BETTER

Offering Customized Therapy – Online or In-Person

MellaHealth is a Connecticut-based company that provides research-validated therapy services delivered virtually or in-person by highly trained, licensed clinicians.

MellaHealth therapy can help clients address:

With effective and exceptional online therapy waiting for you, our goal is simple: To help you feel better.

THE MISSION OF

MellaHealth

Mella – short for Meliora, meaning ‘always better’ in Latin – is our guiding principle. Our mission is simple:

Improve the quality of life for those suffering from mental health conditions and life stress by providing customized, evidence-based treatment that empowers individuals to improve their emotional well-being.

THE UNIQUE MELLAHEALTH APPROACH

Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is at the foundation of our work with clients.

CBT is a highly effective therapeutic approach for treating a wide range of mental health conditions. This approach helps clients identify, challenge, and conquer unhelpful or negative thoughts, behaviors and emotions. CBT places an emphasis on a client’s current life and how to move forward rather than focusing on their history.

Clients are able to identify specific problems and then receive therapeutic tools and strategies to help overcome these challenges and feel better.

OUR THERAPISTS

Experienced mental health therapists highly trained in CBT.

MellaHealth clinicians are extensively trained in research-validated cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions to address mental health conditions.

Our therapists are masters’ level (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) with a Connecticut state license to practice mental health treatment. They are thoroughly interviewed and vetted for their education, clinical experience and ability, and interpersonal skills. Additionally, all therapists complete rigorous training courses and assessment exams, developed by our experts, as part of joining the MellaHealth team. Therapists also receive ongoing continuing education and mentorship.

Research suggests that the ‘fit’ between you and the therapist is the best predictor of therapeutic outcomes, so we take this process very seriously. Our services begin with a free phone consultation with one of our licensed clinicians to determine the best fit therapist based on the client’s unique situation, therapist preferences and schedule.

INSURANCE / PAYMENT OPTIONS

Help from a mental health clinician made affordable.

At MellaHealth, we are very pleased to accept most major insurance carriers. We currently accept Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield, Cigna, ConnectiCare, Medicaid (HUSKY), Medicare, Oxford, TRICARE and UnitedHealthcare, with the cost of treatment based on your in-network coverage plan. We will review your specific benefit coverage and any out-of-pocket responsibilities prior to beginning treatment.

If you have health insurance with a plan with which we do not participate, you may be entitled to out-of-network benefits as part of your health plan. The benefits specialists at MellaHealth are available to help explain the process of determining your benefits and out-of-pocket costs. Similar to in-network coverage, MellaHealth will process all out-of-network claims and paperwork directly with your insurance provider.

If you do not have insurance or would prefer that MellaHealth not bill your insurance, sessions will be billed at $125 per 45-minute session. MellaHealth accepts all major credit and debit cards in addition to health spending account (HSA) cards.

OUR COMPANY

The Origins of MellaHealth

MellaHealth was established by Ivy Patt, PhD, who, during the pandemic, sought a way to offer essential counseling services to the many people suffering from mental health conditions during highly uncertain times.

Ivy has over 20 years of experience in clinical psychology with a specialization in utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for the treatment of anxiety, depression and other mental health disorders.

Mella, short for Meliora, the Latin word for ‘always better’, serves as the foundation for the treatment we offer our clients.
