Emily Brede, LCSW
Emily is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who earned her degree from Rhode Island College. She has over ten years of experience working in the mental health field in a variety of different roles. Emily has provided outpatient individual and group therapy and has counseled individuals through her work with crisis and suicide prevention hotlines. She has treated adults with a range of conditions including: anxiety, chronic pain/illnesses, disabilities, depression, substance use/recovery and trauma. Emily is a LGBTQ+ ally and she strives to create a safe therapeutic environment for self-expression. She uses the evidenced-based practices of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and motivational interviewing (MI) in her work with clients. Emily works collaboratively with her clients helping them make progress on their individual goals for treatment. She cultivates a positive therapeutic relationship as she focuses on client strengths and offers a dash of humor whenever possible.
