Alexander LaRosa, LPC

My Approach

I believe that the foundation to creating positive change begins with establishing a warm and welcoming environment where clients feel safe in sharing their experiences. My approach to counseling is client-centered as I integrate multiple treatment strategies to help clients reach their goals. This includes processing any ambivalence towards change, creating a better sense of self-awareness through meditative practices, as well as identifying and challenging maladaptive thoughts impacting a client’s emotional and overall wellbeing.

Specialty Areas

I specialize in working with adults who are experiencing anxious and depressive symptoms including those who are navigating transitions in life, struggling with chronic health issues, as well as experiencing grief and loss. I also work with college students who are adjusting from life away from home and are feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of academics, balancing self-care, and finding the right career path.
